How to get spilled coffee smell out of car?

There’s not much that can compare to the frustration of spilling a fresh cup of coffee in your car and letting it fall on those freshly cleaned seats, especially if you’re in a hurry. How can you quickly clean it before it hardens and leaves stains? Learn how to clean spilled coffee in your car using this CarMats guide before they cause stains.

Coffee stain removal

As soon as you can, blot the coffee that has been spilled. Try to absorb as much of the spill as you can without rubbing it into the seat by using any absorbent materials you may have to lie around, such as paper towels, napkins, cloths, etc.

Use a clean towel or sponge to gently rub the area after spraying on cleaner.

Clean up any additional coffee stains on the carpet, cup holder, door trim, or other surfaces.

Clean the area with water, then blot with the cloth you’re using until there are no more coffee stains visible.

If it’s warm outside, leave the windows down or use a hairdryer to dry the seat.

If there is still a small stain, apply a solution of warm water and vinegar to the stain and then remove it with a clean cloth.

Baking soda or an odor absorber can be used to mask lingering stale coffee odors in cars. Just remember to let your car air out after using any cleaners inside.

Spills on car seats can be removed in a few different ways. Using a vacuum with a hose attachment is one option. Another option is to blot up the spill with a wet cloth and then vacuum up the liquid using the hose attachment.
